Bodiology Sussex is an established beauty and aesthetics salon in Eastbourne with a loyal client base and steady traffic to its website. The training side of the business is new. Bodiology wanted to teach qualified beauty professionals how to deliver advanced treatments such as microneedling, CryoPen, dermaplaning and skin anatomy, through a mix of hands on training days in Eastbourne and self paced online courses. They asked Koprio to help them launch it and make sure everything was ready to go.

The challenge

Bodiology needed somewhere to sell courses, but the salon and the training academy are two different businesses with two different audiences. The salon books treatments through Fresha. Course sales needed their own space, so the two never got tangled and the training business could hold its own information, pricing and booking separately from the beauty and aesthetics side.

Each course also carries more detail than a treatment. Location, format, entry requirements, the syllabus and what the price includes all matter to a prospective student before they commit.

The academy also planned to grow its catalogue gradually rather than launch with everything at once, so whatever we built had to be easy for the team to add to over time.

What we did

We built the shop into the existing website, not a separate platform

Bodiology already paid for a website subscription and already had visitors landing on the site. A separate ecommerce platform would have meant a second subscription, another system to maintain and a fresh audience to build from zero.

Instead we added a new page to the current website, custom built for ecommerce. The academy gets its own dedicated space on a site people already visit, Bodiology keeps paying for one subscription, and the existing traffic does more work.

We ran discovery meetings to map every course

We sat down with the Bodiology team and worked through the detail of each course:

  • Location and logistics. Which courses run in person in Eastbourne, which run online, capacity, dates, and how students are supported before and after a training day.

  • Format. Practical training day, online theory, or a blend of both.

  • Entry requirements. The qualifications or experience a student needs before they can enrol on each course.

  • What is included. Kit, materials, certification and aftercare support, set out course by course so there are no surprises at checkout.

  • Positioning. Who each course is for, and where it sits against other training providers in the region.

We designed it visually and got sign off first

We produced a full visual mockup of the new page and walked the client through it. Bodiology reviewed the layout, the course structure and the customer journey, gave feedback, and approved it. Development started only once the design was signed off, so there was no guesswork and no expensive rework later.

We built demand before launch

We published a pre launch signup page with a marketing form. Anyone interested can register before courses go on sale. That gives a brand new business a warm, opted in list to contact the moment the shop opens, so launch day has an audience instead of silence.

We used a CMS for product details and pages

Every course is a CMS entry with its own product page. The team adds course details, updates pricing and publishes new courses themselves, so the catalogue can grow bit by bit with no developer involved.

We integrated Shop to handle payments, stock and analytics

One connected system runs checkout, stock levels and sales data. Bodiology wanted students to be able to pay by Klarna, Apple Pay or bank payment, and Shop supported all three, so students can choose instalments, one tap checkout or a bank transfer.

We built full course pages

Each course page is built to answer everything a student needs before buying. Take the Dermaplane Facial online course: the page sets out the full theory syllabus, from skin anatomy through to blade angles and technique, who the course suits, the entry requirements, exactly what is included and who is delivering the training. The student has every answer before the course reaches the cart.

We built a proper itemised cart

Professionals often book more than one course at once. The cart shows every course selected, with clear per item pricing, before checkout.

We kept the two businesses cleanly separate

The academy runs on its own page and its own checkout, with no crossover with the salon's Fresha booking. Neither set of customers is ever confused about what they are buying or from whom.

Where it stands

The pre launch signup page is live and collecting interested professionals, so Bodiology will open the shop to a warm audience rather than a cold start.

The ecommerce page behind it is built and ready on the existing website. The course pages, the itemised cart and the Shop integration for payment, stock and analytics are all in place. As Bodiology finalises its course catalogue, the team adds each course through the CMS and publishes when ready, with no developer needed and no second platform to run.

The academy has its own dedicated space on the site, kept separate from the salon, and Bodiology runs the whole thing on one website subscription.
